For years I've toyed with the idea of abandoning everything, running off to France, and getting myself into ridiculous amount of debt to go to cooking school. Eventually I come to my senses and just order a new cookbook off Amazon, but now I have another option and it's called Salted. If you're anything like me and you have big dreams of becoming your very own version of Giada De Laurentiis let me tell you, you are going to be obsessed. And if cookings not really your thing this might just be the perfect gift for the foodie in your life.
Essentially, Salted is an online cooking school where you can learn everything you need to feel confident in the kitchen. They help you accomplish this through high def videos taught by some of the best chefs in the country. Usually when I need to learn a new cooking technique I'll spend hours search for a tutorial that is clear, high quality, and has great reviews. Trust me when I say it's a lot harder than it sounds to find such a thing. With so much content out there, a lot of it being not so great, it's awesome to have a place where you can get trusted tutorials from classically trained chefs. To get an idea of what the courses are all about, they offer a few free video tutorials to try. With Thanksgiving right around the corner I'm loving the video on deep frying a turkey. If you haven't tried it and still can't decided how to prepare your turkey this year I highly recommend it.
With the holidays coming this is obviously an awesome gift option, but I'm also loving the idea of giving it as a wedding present. At just $99 for a year subscription, I think it could make some newlyweds very happy! What do you guys think? Is this a subscription you'd be interested in? With the limited space I have in my apartment I'm thinking this may be a better option than more cookbooks for me!
