With only a few days left in the month of January it's time to get your organization for the new year settled. For me this means getting an agenda and filling it with all my important dates and tasks to come. While I love having an agenda and never miss a chance to stay organized, I hate all the stress that can come along with the task. One of my favorite new organizational tools I've found this year is the stress free agenda from Fashiony Fab. It has all the elements you need to keep organized along with tips to help you live a stress free lifestyle. To learn a little more about the creator behind the agenda and the development that went into it's creation keep reading for a brief interview with Maru Ramirez.
Tell me a little about yourself and how you came about starting Fashiony Fab?
I started blogging a little more than a year ago. Well, actually my first blog was earlier than that, it was a blog only in Spanish that focused on fashion and books, which were my main interests at the moment, weird combo, but there you have it. It was a few months into that when I realized I wanted to explore the blogging world further. I enjoyed so much to having a place where I could share my likes and connect with people around the world, so I decided to explain. That’s when I decided to change the name to Fashiony Fab and expand the columns in it. As many other blogs out there, mine started as a hobby, but it quickly evolved into a business idea. Being an admirer of Etsy and other creatives, I decided to start my journey into that world by creating affordable, easy and ready to use art, stationery and blog designs. And here I am now!
Fashiony Fab’s Etsy page is a recent development. Tell me a little about your process of starting it and what got you here today.
I’ve always enjoyed little details such as art prints, stationery and blog designs. So, when I decided I wanted to open my own Etsy shop, that seemed the perfect path for me. Etsy is a wonderful platform for beginners because it makes it easier to start sharing your work. I started creating my designs about 3-4 months ago while working on my business plan to make sure I was prepared. I did some preliminary research on how to open my shop and then just went for it.
Your background is in Psychology, so I’m wondering how that influenced you while creating your stress free agenda.
I graduated from college with a degree in Psychology. When I started blogging, I discovered that I had a passion for design as well, so I wanted to create and learn more about it. Of course my love Psychology needed to works its way in so when I started thinking about opening my shop, I tried to mix those two very important areas of my life. That’s when the idea of a planner came up.
Tell me about what went into developing the stress free agenda
One main thing we all suffer from all the time is stress, which can have a serious impact in both your mental and physical health. That’s where I saw and opportunity to help others. I worked in incorporating some techniques I use on clients that would be easy to use and make a difference in the day to day. I wanted something that felt effortless. I spent a lot of time carefully putting all of this together, as well as working on a design that was fun and cute.
With so many agenda’s on the market, what sets this one apart?
When I thought about creating a planner, that was the same question I had in mind. There are so many options available nowadays that it had to be something unique. It's definitely not your average planner. You won't find an hour to hour layout or anything like that. What you will find in those pages is a way to take a few moments and reflect in your days. You'll discover ways to analyze what’s causing you to stress out and worry, and it will help you focus on the positive aspects of your life while encouraging you to make the necessary changes you need to be happy. We are constantly fighting time and running around, but we rarely stop and notice what’s actually going on in our lives? That’s what this agenda is all about.
How did you come up with the ideas for the stress relieving exercise within the planner? Will your future planners have the same exercises or do you plan on changing them overtime?
All of the exercises found on the planner are based on coaching techniques that have been proven to have real results in life. I took these theories and focused on how to incorporate them into easy to follow & effortless exercises that didn’t take that much time to do. As small as they seem, they have a real impact if you practice them on a daily basis. These exercise will definitely be part of future planners, but I may develop them further overtime and add a few surprises here and there.
What’s next for your Etsy page? Do you have any exciting developments in the works?
Right now I’m starting to offer fun inspirational mugs (I’m obsessed with mugs), I will also continue to offer calendars, notebooks, planners in my line. I’m also in the early stages of adding some cute t-shirts, so that’s going to be fun!
