One of my favorite parts about going to the beach is filling up my beach bag with fun things to keep me busy while I try to get my tan on. For years I've been lugging the same tired old beach bag with me to the shore, but I feel like it's time for a refresh! A few weeks ago while shopping in Cape May, I came across a store called Sea Bags that had recently opened. The stores charm is what initially drew me in, but it was the amazing products that kept me interested. While I didn't purchase a beach bag right away, I have every intention of buying one eventually as they are beyond beautiful.
In an effort to learn a bit more about the Sea Bags brand, I set out to do a bit of research. I learned that all Sea Bags are made from old sails that are recycled into a variety of products such as totes, pillows, and wine bags. The company started, and remains today, in Portland, Maine. The idea behind the bags is simple, they aspire to create a second life for beautiful sails while keeping all products produced locally. Sea Bags aims to actively contribute to their community and create products that are environmentally friendly. Each tote is handmade, creating a quality product that is built to give the retired sails a second life in the form of a seabag. Most of the medium sized totes, that are the perfect beach size, run around $150. That is a bit pricy for your average beach bag, but as your heard this bag is anything but average.
For my own beach bag, I am gravitating towards their marine life collection. I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like best, but I'm learning towards the seahorse purely because of the pop of color. Now tell me, what do you guys think about these darling beach totes? Have any of your tried them out before? I'd love to hear your opinion if you think the bag is worth the splurge.
