While there are a lot of things that go into creating a home, I firmly believe that painting a space and putting down rugs will always help bring it all together. Since moving into our space about six months ago, I've been pretty slow at getting those two things done. Not because they weren't important, but more so because they were two elements that I knew would really define the space. Being a major design enthusiast, I've been struggling to decide which direction I wanted to take and therefor kept putting it off to focus on other aspects of the design process.
Having decided to finally address our wall colors, I started to do some heavy Pinterest pinning to get a little inspiration. While pinning away, I kept coming across images of bold black interior doors that I couldn't get out of my mind. How could I have not thought of this before? First off, black is my forever go to and secondly, this would allow me to get away with only painting a small portion of our space. It's the perfect painting solution for my temporary home. I love how bold and distinctive the look is, and the black will look amazing against our dark wood floors. I've been really disliking the french doors that lead into our bedroom, but now that I'm set on painting them black I think they might just become one of my favorite parts to our little space.
How do you guys feel about black interior doors? Do you think it adds the right amount of interest or is it overwhelming?
