After watching last nights Oscars, I realized that I had zero clue what any of the documentaries nominated were. For someone who prefers nonfiction to fiction, I found it a little strange that I rarely watch documentaries. Occasionally I'll turn one on while surfing through Netflix, but those times are few and far between. In an effort to become a bit more informed without having to read a novel, I've decided to try watching a documentary once a week. Considering my boyfriend and I often struggle to pick something to watch at night this shouldn't be too much of a problem.
While compiling a preliminary list of must watch documentaries I stumbled onto Documentary Addict, a website that boats a vast collection of curated documentaries. They currently have just under 5,000 to choose from so it's a pretty solid place to start my documentary watching journey. First on my list is this documentary on the what it takes to be one of the greatest perfumers in the world, but I'm very interested in hearing some recommendations for something with a bit more substance. Let me know a few of your favorites, and if you're just getting into documentaries like me give that site a look. You're bound to find something that strikes your fancy.
