Beginner's Guide To Face Oil

If you haven't realized already, I am skincare obsessed. I think it stems from my grandmother. At 80 something years old she has the most amazing skin. Surprisingly for as skincare obsessed as I am, I only jumped on the face oil bandwagon recently. Having had some issues with acne, the idea of putting oil onto my face seemed like the worst idea possible. I know I know, how wrong could I have been. Since I have finally seen the light, and the benefits for that matter, I figured I would share a few of my favorites. Each one does a little something special and is aimed towards a particular skin type & problem. If you are still a bit hesitant, I recommend heading over to your local Sephora and asking for a sample. This way you get used to the process, and you can see if face oil is right for you!

A few tips for the weary:

  • Face oils can be a bit tricky to use with foundation. It is important to leave ample time for it to absorb. Follow up your foundation with a light dusting of translucent powder.
  • If you rush your beauty routine, a face oil may be a better for night time moisturizing only.
  • Use it with your acne treatment. I kid you not, it won't counter act the benefits of your treatment, but it will help you from not overly drying out.
  • It takes some time to get use to, but once you do the benefits will shine through.
