Crab Cake With Spicy Mango Salsa

 If you love a good crab cake or if you are just looking for a fresh take on the summer classic, you have to try out this delicious crab cake recipe. I like to keep my crab cakes simple, utilizing only be freshest ingredient s and big chunks of crab.  To add a little something different pile it high with a fresh mango or peach salsa served with a key lime aioli. If you are looking for a great small bite serve mini crab cakes on a toasted slider bun. Simply drizzle with the key lime aioli and top off with a spoon of salsa. It's sure to be an appetizer that flies off the plate. 

Crab Cake Recipe


  • 2 large egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives (or green onion) 
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise 
  • I tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoon grated lime zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes or
  • 2 teaspoons old bay (optional)
  • 1 lb jumbo lump crabmeat
  • 2 tablespoon unseasoned bread crumbs.


  1. In a bowl  whisk egg whites and add in chives, parsley, mayonnaise, lime zest & juice, and red pepper. Gently fold in crab and bread crumbs until just combined.
  2. Gently shape into a medium sized balls and flatten with a fork. 
  3. Place on wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour. 
  4. Coat a large frying pan with olive oil and fry over medium for 2-3 minutes on each side. Alternatively you can bake at 375 for 15 minutes. 

Key Lime Ailoi 


  • 1 cup mayonnaise (homemade or store bought) 
  • zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 clove minced garlic 
  • pinch of onion powder
  • salt & pepper to taste 


  1. Beat together ingredients in a medium size bowl.
  2. Cover and refrigerate immediately until ready to serve. 
  3. Drizzle over crab cake or serve on the side. 

Mango Or Peach Salsa


  • 1 mango or 2 peaches peeled and cut into small chunks
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley 
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion (or chives) 
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice 
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper 
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and chopped 


  1. Combine  ingredients in a medium size bowl.
  2. Cover and refrigerate immediately until ready to serve. 
  3. Serve over crab cake or on the side.
