When living in an apartment building it can be difficult to deal with plants. You either don't have an outdoor space or the natural lighting in your place is a little less than desirable. Currently I am dealing with both of those issues. It's okay during the fall and winter months, but come spring and summer it's just not cool. Every time I seem to bring a new plant into my home it falls victim to my black thumb. It's starting to become a bit of a problem, but I am not ready to give up just yet.
A few weeks ago I stumbled onto The Sill while looking to remedy this pesky predicament of mine. The company was created in an effort to help people bring more of the outdoors inside. They work to find ways to tackle many of the issues that people face when introducing some green into their homes. If you have a large budget you can hire them to outfit your home with plants, but if your like me you'll probably be sticking to their incredible potted plant selection. Each plant is chosen based on its ability to thrive indoors with relatively low maintenance. If that doesn't get you excited the beautiful planters will. All of their pieces are handcrafted and quite charming. I'm pretty much obsessed with their burbank hanging baskets. It would be perfect for a kitchen paired with the low light plant option. If you aren't in the market for new plants but enjoy learning about good houseplants for the future, you have to check out their top plant picks.
What are a few of your favorite indoor plants? I love a good terrarium, but unfortunately I managed to kill mine within a few months! Hopefully I'll have a bit more luck with the low lighting plants and can finally make my home a plant friendly zone.
