Over the past few weeks, I've been seeing a ton of gift guides for men but none of them really resonated with the type of men I have to shop for. To say I'm envious of the women who can purchase those things and have their guy be over joyed would be an understatement. I'd love to be able to purchase well designed mens grooming products or a cozy cardigan for the guys in my life but I'd just end up with pretend smiles coming my way. Instead of giving into my desire to buy things that I'd like for the men in my life, I've decided to put on my thinking cap and go with gifts that they might actually get excited about. So today I'll be sharing with you my top ten realistic gifts that will please men with varying interests & personalities. You'll find gift ideas for the movie buff, the bookworm, and the handyman just to name a few! Now without further adieu, I present my realistic mans gift guide.
The Movie Buff: Do you have a guy in your life who loves watching movies? If so, you can never go wrong with box sets from their favorite directors or gift cards to the movies. It is Oscars season after all, so those gift cards definitely won't go to waste. And if you need a few recommendations for box sets, here are four that will give them hours of viewing pleasure. Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy, Tarantino XX, Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection, and the Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition.
The Bookworm: I've got quite a few guys in my life who really enjoy reading but I never know where to start when it comes to picking out books for men. Luckily with Oyster I don't have to worry about that anymore. If you're not familiar with Oyster, it's a essentially a subscription to a massive digital library. To learn a bit more about it, I suggest reading this little article but for thirty dollars you can purchase your loved ones a three months subscription. Now that's one perfect gift!
The Handyman: Got a handyman in your life? Lucky you! Before you get all confused over what to get the Mr. Fix it in your life, I suggest going out and taking a quick look at the current state of their toolbox. You'll probably be able to quickly see some tools that have seen better days, but if you're still at a loss you can never go wrong with a good old gift card.
The Foodie: If you are lucky enough to have a man who enjoys the finer foods in life then you better do them right! Foodies are the perfect people to make a top notch holiday stocking for. A few of my favorites to include are ghost pepper & blueberry hot sauce, spiced cherry bitters, Carolina dirt dry rub, barrel-aged whiskey coffee, and rosemary soberdough mix. Yum!
The Grill Master: Have a Mr. that only likes to make dinner when it involves manning the grill? If so, you can't go wrong with this Grill Master Man Crate. Two of my favorite components of it include a brass knuckle meat tenderizer and a cast iron smoker box. It doesn't get more manly than that.
The Athlete: Ladies if you really want to give you're guy a killer gift this year, you can't go wrong with tickets to a sporting event. Just make sure that you buy at least two tickets, check to see if any of their buddies will free for the evening, and set up some sober transportation for them. If you follow these easy steps, I guarantee you'll be an all star.
The Outdoors Man: Ever want to just go get lost in the woods and feed off the land? Yeah me either but apparently some guys out there do! If you have one of these very special manly men in your life, I suggest checking out this Brunton Hydrogen Reactor. This way during their next camping trip they will be able to keep a charge on their electronic devices. No more having to turn off their cell phones in fear of the battery dying.
The Gamer: Ladies we can fight it all year but when it comes time for the holidays there is no easier guy to buy for then the gamer. For some of the best gaming gift of the year check out Man of Many for their perfectly curated list. There is a little something for every different type of gamer out there.
The City Dweller: Living in a city has a lot of great benefits but it also has a few negatives. Two that quickly come to mind are the need for subway rides & limited outdoors space. If you have a city man in your life who finds issue with both of these things, consider getting them a kindle to keep them amused during their travels or a terrarium to help them bring some some greenery indoors.
The Family Man: For all those special dads out there that get a kick out of family time, I highly recommend stocking up on some fun boardgames for those cold winter nights ahead. Two of my favorites are the wizard card game & stratego. Both of them require a little bit more skill than your basic monopoly, so they will be sure to keep everyone on their toes.
